Another cool recent find was this guy right here.... Vintage Hot Wheels collectors know EXACTLY what this is but I'll explain anyway...
In 1970 Hot Wheels mania was full on and Mattel were making lots of cool race sets to meet the demand. THIS vehicle was part of a totally wacky set called the Sky Show and featured a car racing down a Hot Wheels race strip and triggering an elastic that shot the plane into the air before the car hit a loop... it was all very insane.... What was MORE insane was that this Sky Show Deora was ONLY released in Canada. The rest of the world got the Custom Fleetside instead. The small production numbers in Canada make this one of the rarer production Redlines.... oh but this also came in two colours with the purple version being almost twice as rare as this aqua version...
Anyway, I haven't decided on this one yet... to keep or to sell.... that IS the question..... However I will bring it along to the Ancaster Nostalgia show on Sunday December 3rd with the rest of my cars and we'll see what happens.
